MoPA Unveils Upgraded Version of NYPS Web PortalNYPS 2.0
On February 2, 2026, the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs (MoPA), unveiled an upgraded version of the National Youth Parliament Scheme (NYPS) web portal, also known as NYPS 2.0, to significantly expand the reach and inclusivity of the Youth Parliament Programme in India.
Key Features of NYPS 2.0:
Engagement: Since its launch on 11 September 2024, the NYPS has recorded robust participation, with 95,319 participants across 660 Youth Parliament sittings up to 27 January 2026.
Inclusive Access: The upgrade aims to ensure wider involvement in remote and rural areas by removing barriers that existed in the previous version.
Broader Eligibility: Earlier restricted to students of recognized educational institutions. Currently, the portal enables participation from all educational institutions, groups, and individual citizens across India.
Modes: The upgraded portal allows institution participation, enabling schools, colleges, and universities to organise Youth Parliament Sittings (YPSs) under Kishore Sabha (younger students) and Tarun Sabha (Undergraduates(UG)/Postgraduates(PG)).

  • It also supports Group Participation for citizen groups and Individual Participation.
