Overview of PM Narendra Modi’s Visit to Punjab on February 1, 2026On February 1, 2026, Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi visited Punjab to participate in commemorative, developmental, and infrastructure-related engagements.

  • The visit coincided with the 649th birth anniversary of Sant Guru Ravidas, a revered 15th-century saint.

Highlights of PM Narendra Modi’s Visit to Punjab:
Arrival: PM Narendra Modi arrived at the Adampur Airport in Jalandhar, Punjab.
Adampur Airport: During the visit, he unveiled the new name of the Adampur Airport as ‘Shri Guru Ravidass Maharaj Ji Airport, Adampur’, in honour of Sant Guru Ravidas.
Halwara Airport Terminal: During the visit, PM Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated the new civil terminal building at Halwara Airport in Ludhiana (Punjab), scaling up regional air connectivity for Ludhiana and surrounding industrial and agricultural areas.
Paid Tribute: He visited Dera Sachkhand Ballan, a major spiritual center of the Ravidassia community in Jalandhar, and paid respect on Guru Ravidas Jayanti.
