Toyota Motors Appoints Kenta Kon as its New President and CEOIn February 2026, Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) appointed its Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Kenta Kon as its new President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effective from 1st April 2026.
- Kenta Kon will replace Koji Sato, who will assume the news roles of Vice Chairman and Chief Industry Officer(CIO) in TMC.
About Kenta Kon:
Background: He joined Toyota Motor Corporation in 1991.
Expertise: He is known for strong financial discipline, cost control, and close collaboration with Chairman Akio Toyoda.
Previous Role: He serves as a director at Woven by Toyota (technology unit) and Toyota Fudosan (real estate unit).
New CFO: Current CFO Kenta Kon, promoted to CEO, has been succeeded by Yoichi Miyazaki, Executive Vice President, as the new CFO.
