Apogee Aerospace Place Order Worth Rs 3,500 Crore with Australia’s AAI for 15 Seaplanes
In February 2026, Apogee Aerospace Private Limited, an air defence company placed an order worth Rs 3,500 crore for 15 amphibian aircrafts (seaplanes) with Australia’s Amphibian Aerospace Industries (AAI).

  • The order is part of the AAI–Apogee Aerospace partnership to develop an amphibian aviation ecosystem in India, anchored by AAI’s Albatross 2.0 platform.

Key Details:
Key Areas Covered: In addition to that, Apogee Aerospace will invest Rs 500 crore to set up tail-section manufacturing, Maintenance, Repair  and Overhaul (MRO) facilities, training and simulation infrastructure, and advanced integration capabilities in India.
Key Role: As per this strategic collaboration, Apogee Aerospace has been designated as AAI’s exclusive authorised representative for the Indian subcontinent in the restricted category which covers defence and government requirements.
About Albatross 2.0 Aircraft: It is the world’s first and only transport-category amphibious aircraft in the Registered Passenger Transport (RPT) segment certified by both the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), with a maximum capacity of 28 seats and capable of operating on both water and land.
