NDMA, AcSIR, CSIR-NIScPR Sign MoU to Enhance Cooperation in DMRR
On February 21, 2026, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR), and Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR)- National Institute of Science Communication and Policy Research (CSIR-NIScPR), under the Ministry of Science and Technology (MoS&T), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen collaborative efforts in Disaster Management Research & Response (DMRR).
Key Details of the MoU:
Objective: The agreement seeks to strengthen research, capacity building, policy support, and knowledge sharing to enhance national disaster risk reduction and resilience.
Integration: The MoU integrates science, technology, and policy to boost disaster preparedness, promote academic and interdisciplinary research, and enhance public awareness and science communication on disaster risks in India.
Role of Entities: Under the MoU, a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme will be launched by AcSIR at CSIR-NIScPR with support from NDMA.

• AcSIR, NDMA, and CISR-NIScPR will carry out joint research, policy studies, and capacity-building programmes in disaster risk reduction.
