Union Sports Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya Led 1st Anniversary Celebrations of ‘Fit India Sundays on Cycle’ in PuducherryIn December 2025, Union Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS), led the 1st anniversary celebrations of “Fit India Sundays on Cycle” movement with over 1,500 participants at Rock Beach in Union Territory (UT) of Puducherry.

  • K. Kailashnathan, Lieutenant (Lt.) Governor of UT Puducherry; N. Rangaswamy, CM of UT Puducherry, and other distinguished government officials were also present at the event.

Key Details of Celebrations:
ParticipationPadma Bhushan and Khel Ratna awardees P. R. Sreejesh and Sharath Kamal joined the cycling ride, motivating over 1,500 cyclists from schools, universities, NaMo Cycling Clubs, and the community.
Supporters: The movement is supported by NaMo Fit India Cycling Clubs and MyBharat volunteers.
Key Launch: During the event, Union Minister Dr. Mansukh Madaviy launched ‘Fit India Mobile App Carbon Credit Incentivization’, aimed to boost cycling enthusiasts.

  • Also, top 3 cyclists: Bharatbhai Parmar, Shashikant Veerkar, and Govind Singh, who garnered the highest carbon credits were felicitated at the event.

Felicitation of Fit India Ambassadors: The Fit India Ambassadors and Influencers namely, Nidhi Nigam, Aishwarya Raj (Champion) and ambassadors Shikha Gupta, Yukti Arya, mountaineer Divya Arul, and Tamil Nadu (TN) Cycling State Champion Siva Senthil, were felicitated at the event, in recognition of their contributions in championing the cause of Sundays on Cycle initiative.
