MP to Develop India’s First State-Level Multi-National Park Tiger Corridor
In December 2025, Madhya Pradesh (MP) Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Rakesh Singh announced that MP will develop India’s first state-level, multi-national park (NP) Tiger Corridor in collaboration with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), during an event held at the Kushabhau Thakre Convention Centre, Bhopal, MP.

About India’s first state-level, multi-NP Tiger Corridor:
Connectivity & Scale: The 961-kilometer (km) corridor will connect Kanha Tiger Reserves(TR), Bandhavgarh TR, Panna TR, and Pench TR, with an estimated cost of Rs. 5,500 crore.
Wildlife Design: The project incorporates wildlife-friendly features such as forest underpasses, slow-traffic zones, and animal-safe road designs to ensure safe tiger movement.
Timeline: The state plans to build six major expressways and pragatipath projects totaling 3,368 km, with completion targeted by June 2028.
Tiger Status: With 785 tigers as per the 2022 census, MP remains India’s leading “Tiger State,” strengthening the relevance of the corridor initiative.
