About the Autobiography:
Overview: The updated autobiography of R.K. Raghavan traces his career from the Indian Police Service (IPS) state cadre through the Intelligence Bureau (IB) to serving as Director of the CBI.
Assassination: The book begins with the 1991 assassination of former Prime Minister (PM) of India Rajiv Gandhi at Sriperumbudur, where he was part of the security team and cites the withdrawal of Special Protection Group (SPG) cover as a key factor.
Awards: He has been awarded the Indian Police Medal for Meritorious Service and the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service.
