MHA Appoints IPS Officer Rakesh Agarwal as Interim DG of NIA
In December 2025, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approved the appointment of Rakesh Agarwal, an Indian Police Service(IPS) officer, as the Interim Director General (DG) of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). He will hold the position until a full-time DG is appointed.
