BEML Signs Tripartite MRA with IISc & FSID for Advanced R&D
On February 4, 2026, Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML), a Public Sector Undertaking (PSU), under the Ministry of Defence (MoD), signed a Tripartite Master Research Agreement (MRA) with the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru (Karnataka), and Foundation for Science, Innovation and Development (FSID), the innovation arm of IISc Bengaluru.
Key Details of the Agreement:
Signatories: The MRA was signed by Shantanu Roy, Chairman and Managing Director (CMD), BEML Limited; Govindan Rangarajan, Director, IISc; and B. Gurumoorthy, Director, FSID.
Purpose: The agreement aims to jointly boost next-generation research and technology development across critical sectors.
Focus Areas: The partnership focuses on accelerating blue-sky, applied, and translational research, in high-technology domains such as aerospace and defence technologies, rail and metro systems and next-generation mobility, mining and construction equipment, maritime technologies, green technologies and sustainability, and advanced manufacturing systems.
R&D Commitment: BEML has made substantial investments in Research and Development(R&D) to support and sustain the collaborative research programmes under this initiative.
