- The announcement followed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Prof. Attila Brungs, UNSW and Dr. S. Selvakumar, Principal Secretary, Department of Industries, Government of Karnataka, during a programme held at Vidhana Soudha, Bengaluru.

Key Programmes: For the initial phase, UNSW will offer Under-Graduate (UG) programmes in commerce, media, computer science, and data science, along with a Post-Graduate (PG) programme in cybersecurity.
Future Plans: UNSW is planning to set up a campus at the upcoming Knowledge, Wellbeing, and Innovation (KWIN) City near Bengaluru.
Alignment: The initiative is aligned with the broader India–Australia Education and Research Cooperation Programme (2025–2030).
Other International Universities: Apart from UNSW, the University of Liverpool(England) and the University of Lancaster(England) have also announced plans to open campuses in Bengaluru.
