Justice Manoj Kumar Gupta Appointed CJ of Uttarakhand HC
In January 2026, the Department of Justice (DoJ) under the Ministry of Law and Justice (MoL&J) through its official notification announced that the President of India in exercise of powers given under Article 217(1) of the Indian Constitution, appointed Justice Manoj Kumar Gupta, a senior judge of Allahabad HC, as the new Chief Justice (CJ) of Uttarakhand High Court (HC).
