About Mascot ‘Udai’:
Developer: The mascot design was created by Arun Gokul from Thrissur (Kerala). The name “Udai”, symbolizing progress, growth, and empowerment, was suggested by Riya Jain from Bhopal(Madhya Pradesh).
Purpose: Udai is intended as a resident-facing communication companion to make Aadhaar-related information more relatable, clear, and user-friendly.
Mascot Utilization: The mascot will be used to explain topics such as Aadhaar enrollment and updates, authentication and offline verification, selective sharing of information, and responsible use and responsible use and new technology adoption.
Background: The mascot and its name were selected through open national competitions on the MyGov platform. UIDAI received 875 creative entries from across India, including designers, students, and professionals.
