ACC Extends Tenure of MDs & CEOs of BoI, BoB; ED of Indian Bank for 3 Years
In April 2026, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), chaired by the Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi, approved a three-year extension for Rajneesh Karnatak of Bank of India(BoI) and Debadatta Chand of Bank of Baroda(BoB) as Managing Directors (MDs) and Chief Executive Officers (CEOs).
In April 2026, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), chaired by the Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi, approved a three-year extension for Rajneesh Karnatak of Bank of India(BoI) and Debadatta Chand of Bank of Baroda(BoB) as Managing Directors (MDs) and Chief Executive Officers (CEOs).
- It also approved the extension of Ashutosh Choudhary as Executive Director (ED) of Indian Bank for another 3 years.
About the Extension:
Rajneesh Karnatak: His extended term will commence on April 29, 2026, following the completion of his initial tenure, and continue until 2029.
Debadatta Chand: The extension for Debadatta Chand will begin on July 1, 2026, extending his tenure until 2029.
Ashutosh Choudhary: He will continue in his role until May 2, 2029, extending his initial term that was set to end on May 2, 2026.
RBI Approval: In April 2026, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) approved the re-appointment of P. N. Vasudevan as the MD & CEO of Equitas Small Finance Bank (Equitas SFB) for three years till 2029, effective from 23 July 2026.
