MeitY Constitutes Technology and Policy Expert Committee to Support AIGEG
In April 2026, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) constituted the Technology and Policy Expert Committee (TPEC) (Advisory Arm) to provide expert advisory support to the newly established Artificial Intelligence (AI) Governance and Economic Group (AIGEG) (Apex Body) in New Delhi, Delhi, for strengthening India’s AI governance and policy framework.

- The committee will provide technical, strategic, and policy support to strengthen AI regulation, governance design, and evidence-based decision-making.
About Technology and Policy Expert Committee (TPEC):
Role: It will translate complex technologies into practical policy insights and reinforce India’s participation in global AI governance forums.
Composition: The committee is chaired by S. Krishnan, Secretary of MeitY.
