CA Prasanna Kumar D Elected as the President of the ICAIOn February 12, 2026, Chartered Accountant (CA) Prasanna Kumar D elected as the 74th President of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), under Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), for the 2026-27 term, with immediate effect. He succeeds CA Charanjot Singh Nanda.

CA Mangesh Pandurang Kinare has been elected as Vice-President (VP) for 2026-27 term.

About CA Prasanna Kunar D:
Profile: He is a senior CA from Visakhapatnam with over four decades of professional experience in areas, encompassing practice, institutional governance, policy involvement, and member welfare initiatives.
Early Career & Qualification: He qualified as a Chartered Accountant (CA) in 1984 and is a Fellow Member of ICAI, a distinction awarded to members with extensive professional experience and significant contributions to the accounting profession. He hails from Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh (AP).
Leadership at Branch & Regional Level:He served as Chairman of the Visakhapatnam Branch of ICAI (2001–02). Subsequently, he was a Member of the Southern India Regional Council (SIRC) from 2007 to 2016, and held the position of Chairman of SIRC (2013–14).
Role in ICAI Central Council: He was elected to the 24th, 25th, and 26th Central Councils of ICAI, serving multiple consecutive terms. Prior to becoming President, he served as the Vice President of ICAI for the 2025–26 term.
