Key Highlights of Visit:
Metro Project: During his visit to India, Japanese FM Motegi, along with Japanese Ambassador to India Ono Keiichi took a ride on the Delhi Metro in New Delhi, Delhi.
- Also, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has committed to provide financial support to the Delhi Metro Project since Phase-I.
Dialogue: Union Minister S. Jaishankar, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) along with Japanese FM Motegi participated in the 18th India-Japan Strategic Dialogue held in New Delhi, Delhi.
Key Outcomes : Both countries will convene the private security dialogue under the Economic Security initiative, aimed to strengthen public-private cooperation in the field of economic security.
- India and Japan launched the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Dialogue to be led by FMs.
- Both countries have agreed to convene the Joint Working Group (JWG) on critical minerals in early 2026.
Economic Security Dialogue: The second round of the Economic Security Dialogue, co‑led by the Foreign Secretary of India and the Japanese Vice Minister, was scheduled to take place in the 1st half of 2026.
