Career: In the 1960s, he began his career as a scientist and researcher in ecology. He joined the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru (Karnataka). Later, he became a founding faculty member of the Centre for Ecological Sciences (CES) at IISc and played a crucial role in designing curricula in ecology, establishing long-term ecological field studies, and training students in scientific methods.
