In December 2025, the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MoMSME) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Amazon Seller Services Private Limited to strengthen market access for artisans registered under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme.

About the MoU between MoMSME and Amazon Seller Services:
Amazon Role: Amazon will onboard eligible Vishwakarma artisans to its marketplace under the Karigar initiative, boosting visibility for India’s handmade products.
MoMSME Support: MoMSME will help artisans secure necessary approvals, registrations, and clearances for seamless participation in digital commerce.
Artisan Coverage: The partnership covers artisans from 18 traditional trades—including carpentry, pottery, metalsmithing, goldsmithing, tailoring, cobbling, and basket making—to integrate them into online markets.
National Impact: The collaboration expands the digital footprint of traditional artisans, supporting Viksit Bharat and Atmanirbhar Bharat through grassroots empowerment.
PM Vishwakarma Scheme: Launched on 17 September 2023, it offers end-to-end support—skill training, modern toolkits, market access, credit, and preservation of traditional craftsmanship under the guru-shishya parampara.
