DBN, AP Government Signs Pact for Expeditious Implementation of Amended BharatNet ProgrammeIn February 2026, Digital Bharat Nidhi (DBN) under the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Ministry of Communications,  signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) with the Andhra Pradesh (AP) Government for the expedited implementation of the Amended BharatNet Programme (ABP) in the state.The MoC was formally signed by Shyamal Misra, Administrator of DBN; and Movva Tirumala Krishna Babu,  Special Chief Secretary(CS) of Infrastructure and Investment Department of AP government in Tadepalle, Guntur district (AP).Key Details:Key Role: Under the newly signed MoC, the state government is required to extend full support for faster rollout of ABP, including facilitation of Right of Way (RoW), infrastructure access, and necessary coordination support.SPV: The state government has constituted AP BharatNet Infrastructure Limited (APBIL), a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) for the successful implementation of the project in the state.Financial Support: Rs 2,432 crore has been approved by the Government of India (GoI) for the execution of the program in AP.
