India's April-January fiscal deficit at 63% of the 2025-26 target
India's fiscal deficit for the April-January period is ₹9.81 lakh crore, which is 63% of the estimate for the financial year ending March 31. The government received ₹27,08,654 crore upto January, 2026 comprising ₹20,94,218 crore of tax revenue, ₹5,57,307 crore of non-tax revenue, and ₹57,129 crore of non-debt capital receipts. Total expenditure incurred by government is ₹36,90,061 crore.
