Chhattisgarh's Gevra mine will become the world's top coal-producing mine next year, surpassing the US mines, PTI reported citing a top official. Operated by a subsidiary of Coal India, Gevra mine is India's largest opencast coal mine. By next year, the Gevra mine will be producing 63 million tonnes of coal and has received environmental clearance for capacity expansion.
