Following the surrender of top Maoist leader Thippiri Tirupathi alias Devuji, an intelligence source told The Indian Express, “In the history of the party...there's no other leader of this rank who has surrendered.” The 62-year-old, who was the highest-ranking member of the banned Communist Party of India (Maoist), is accused of involvement in the killings of over 250 security personnel.
