Alpine SG Pipers Wins Tech Mahindra Global Chess League 2025 TitleOn 22nd December 2025, Alpine SG Pipers clinched the 3rd edition of the Global Chess League (GCL) 2025, also known as Tech Mahindra Global Chess League (TechM GCL) 2025 title, by defeating two-time defending champions Triveni Continental Kings in the final held at the Royal Opera House, Mumbai (Maharashtra).

  • The Event was organised by Fédération Internationale des Échecs or the International Chess Federation (FIDE), as a joint venture with Tech Mahindra Limited, and was held from 14 to 23 December 2025.

Format: Franchise-based international rapid chess league featuring mixed teams (male and female players).
Prize Pool: USD 1 million.
Team Composition: Each team consists of one icon player, two super grads (men), two women players, and one Under-21 (U-21) prodigy.
Finals: Alpine SG Pipers secured the championship by defeating Triveni Continental Kings 2–0 in the best-of-two rapid final, winning the matches 4–2 and 4.5–1.5.
Participating Teams: The 2025 Global Chess League featured Triveni Continental Kings (led by Alireza Firouzja), Alpine SG Pipers (led by Fabiano Caruana), Ganges Grandmasters (led by Viswanathan Anand), PBG Alaskan Knights (led by Gukesh Dommaraju), upGrad Mumba Masters (Vidit Gujrathi), and Fyers American Gambits (Hikaru Nakamura).
