Overview of PM Narendra Modi’s Visit to Uttarakhand and UP on 14 April 2026
On April 14, 2026, Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi visited Uttar Pradesh (UP) and Uttarakhand , where he inaugurated the Delhi–Dehradun Economic Corridor and reviewed key infrastructure and environmental initiatives.
Inauguration of Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor:
Economic Corridor: On April 14, 2026, the 213-kilometre (km), six-lane Delhi–Dehradun Economic Corridor was inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi in Dehradun, Uttarakhand.
Aim: The Delhi–Dehradun Economic Corridor, developed at a cost of over Rs. 12,000 crore, is designed to cut travel time.
Infrastructure: The project includes 10 interchanges, 3 Railway Over Bridges (ROBs), 4 major bridges, 5 toll plazas, and 12 wayside amenities.
Wildlife Protection: The corridor features a 12 km wildlife elevated section, among the longest in Asia, 8 animal passages, 2 elephant underpasses, and a 370 metre (m) tunnel near Daat Kali Temple.
