Doordarshan–ICCR Sign MoU to promote Indian Art and Culture Globally
In April 2026, Doordarshan(DD), under the aegis of Prasar Bharati, and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote Indian art, culture, and heritage globally through enhanced collaboration in broadcasting and cultural exchange.

  • The agreement was signed by K. Satish Nambudiripad, Director General(DG), Doordarshan and K. Nandini Singla, DG, ICCR at Doordarshan Bhawan in New Delhi, Delhi

Highlights of MoU:
Scope: The collaboration leverages Doordarshan’s television(TV), radio, and digital ecosystem to amplify ICCR’s cultural content, including events by Indian Missions abroad and programmes from ICCR headquarters and regional offices.
Key Roles: Under the MoU, ICCR will provide cultural content, while Doordarshan will ensure its coverage and dissemination across TV, radio, OTT platforms, and social media, including content from Indian Missions overseas.
Content Rights: The agreement provides for joint perpetual ownership of content rights (including digital rights), enabling long-term archiving and dissemination, with Doordarshan also handling pre-event publicity and cross-platform promotion.
Validity: The agreement will remain in force for three years, with provision for extension through mutual consent.
