- The survey, conducted by the Textiles Committee, evaluates household demand for Textiles and Apparel (T&A) and serves as a key reference for policymakers and industry to plan growth strategies.
Key Findings of the Report:
Market Expansion: The domestic demand for textiles grew from Rs 4.89 lakh crore in 2010 to Rs 14.95 lakh crore in 2024, recording a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 8.3%.
Household Contribution: Household demand specifically rose from Rs 4.18 lakh crore (2010) to Rs 8.77 lakh crore (2024).
Per Capita Demand: Reflecting rising incomes, the per capita demand for textiles increased from Rs 2,119 in 2010 to Rs 6,066 in 2024 (7.8% CAGR).
